Yesterday I was able to drive the new Taycan GT at the Porsche Experience Center in Hockenheim and had a remarkable experience. I have been driving electric cars for over 13 years, but this vehicle impressed even me. With over 1000 hp and everyday usability that allows the Taycan to be driven with as little as 21 kWh per 100 km, this model sets new standards. On the one hand, a fully-fledged electric car for everyday use, on the other hand, a sports car that can easily keep up with even the most powerful combustion engines in terms of performance and design.
The advantages of electric drive – efficiency and performance without compromise
The Taycan GT shows that performance is no longer a challenge with electric drive. Even with high engine power, efficiency remains at a high level, because the power consumption in everyday life is hardly different from that of a weaker electric car. All assistance systems, the entertainment, the air conditioning, the power steering and even the chassis are controlled purely electrically. This consistent electric operation underlines why electric vehicles will be far superior to combustion engines in the future.
Range and charging performance in everyday life
The Taycan GT offers a WLTP range of over 500 km and a charging capacity of over 300 kW. This not only meets the requirements of everyday use, but also takes the electric vehicle into a new league: discussions about charging problems are now obsolete. In my experience, the charging infrastructure is also very well developed in Europe.
The ideal concept for homeowners
There is an unbeatable combination for homeowners: A charging station in conjunction with a photovoltaic system makes it possible to charge the vehicle for less than 10 euros and drive it in a CO₂-neutral way. The combination of driving pleasure and an active contribution to climate neutrality is incomparable to any other drive.
Appeal to Leaders: Shaping the Future
I appeal to all leaders to set an example by taking this path. The variety of electric vehicles on the market offers a suitable model for every requirement. The time has come to take responsibility for this technological progress and to actively shape the path to climate-neutral mobility.
